In a stirring address that left young hearts inspired, Odisha Governor Dr Hari Babu Kambhampati declared that selfless service is the purest form of humanity.
The occasion was the prestigious Bharat Scouts and Guides Odisha State Award Presentation Ceremony held at the New Abhishek Hall, Lok Bhavan.
Speaking as the Chief Patron and First Guide of the organisation, the Governor urged the youth to embrace discipline, leadership, and a spirit of giving. Quoting the ancient Indian ethos “Seva Paramo Dharma” — Service is the highest duty — he reminded everyone that helping others is what truly makes life meaningful. “This award is not just a medal,” he said. “It is a shining symbol of character, commitment, and dedication to society and the nation. It reflects compassion, teamwork, responsibility, and patriotism.”
Dr. Kambhampati showered praise on the Bharat Scouts and Guides movement for shaping future leaders. He highlighted how the organisation nurtures life skills, environmental awareness, and disaster management capabilities among the youth. With over 4 lakh active members in Odisha and more than 7.5 million across India, Scouts and Guides have been at the forefront of cleanliness drives, tree plantation, health awareness campaigns, and emergency response.

He congratulated every awardee, crediting their sincerity, hard work, and dedication. The Governor also lauded teachers, parents, unit leaders, and officials for instilling values of kindness, humility, discipline, and empathy in children, helping create responsible and compassionate citizens.
Education Minister Nityananda Gond also addressed the gathering, encouraging the young achievers to continue their journey of service. The programme began with a warm welcome speech by Odisha State Chief Commissioner and National Vice-President Kali Prasad Mishra.
Awards were presented to outstanding Scouts and Guides across multiple categories, celebrating their remarkable contributions and achievements.
The evening was not just about honours — it was a powerful reminder that the future of the nation lies in the hands of service-driven youth.
