The flood situation in Odisha remains under continuous monitoring, with relief, rescue, and restoration operations ongoing across affected districts.
According to the State Emergency Operation Centre (SEOC), floods have impacted 13,44,698 people in seven districts — Baleshwar, Mayurbhanj, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Kendujhar, Kendrapada, and Sundaragada. The deluge has affected 76 blocks, 505 gram panchayats, 1,703 villages, and 12 urban local bodies.
As a precautionary measure, 4.87 lakh people have been evacuated and accommodated in 880 relief shelters, which are equipped with safe drinking water, sanitation, lighting, medical support, and cooked food. Free kitchens have served meals to nearly 4.96 lakh beneficiaries, while 4,765 polythene sheets have been distributed to affected families.
To strengthen emergency response, 126 teams have been deployed, including 32 ODRAF, 8 NDRF, 46 Fire Services, and 40 Police/Civil Defence units. So far, 30,303 persons have been rescued, 55,139 shifted by boats, and 492 cut‑off villages reached.
Health services remain a priority, with 93 medical teams conducting 159 camps and treating 11,549 people. Special maternal care has been ensured, with 150 pregnant women shifted and 44 institutional deliveries conducted. Veterinary teams have treated 15,939 animals and supplied 1,405 MT of cattle feed.
Officials confirmed that major rivers are showing a falling trend and remain below danger levels, though vigilance continues. The Special Relief Commissioner’s office is coordinating round‑the‑clock with district administrations to ensure timely delivery of relief and restoration of essential services.
The state’s coordinated response mechanism remains focused on safeguarding lives, supporting affected families, and ensuring a smooth return to normalcy.
