Odisha has achieved a major milestone in women’s economic empowerment, creating more than 26.39 lakh Lakhpati Didis ahead of its target timeline. The announcement was made by Deputy Chief Minister Pravati Parida during the State-level Subhadra Shakti Vision Summit held in Bhubaneswar on Wednesday.
The summit, organized by the Mission Shakti Department, brought together nearly 330 Executive Committee members of District Level Federations (DLFs) from all 30 districts of Odisha to discuss women-led development, entrepreneurship, and Odisha’s Vision 2036 roadmap.
₹147.76 Crore Released to Nearly 2.88 Lakh SHGs
During the event, the Deputy Chief Minister released ₹147.76 crore as Interest Subvention for 2,88,198 Self-Help Groups (SHGs) across Odisha.
The financial support is aimed at reducing borrowing costs for women-led SHGs and strengthening their economic activities at the grassroots level.
Over ₹244 Crore Additional Financial Assistance Distributed
The government also extended financial support through multiple schemes designed to strengthen women’s collectives and community institutions.
Revolving Fund Support
A total of 23,536 SHGs from 26 districts received ₹45.71 crore under the Revolving Fund (RF) programme.
Community Investment Fund
Under the Community Investment Fund (CIF), 624 Gram Panchayat Level Federations (GPLFs) from 27 districts received ₹189.57 crore to support livelihood and enterprise activities.
Vulnerability Reduction Fund
Additionally, 656 Area Level Federations (ALFs) from 15 districts received ₹9.64 crore through the Vulnerability Reduction Fund (VRF) to assist vulnerable households and communities.
Odisha Surpasses Lakhpati Didi Target Ahead of Schedule
Addressing the gathering, Deputy Chief Minister Pravati Parida highlighted Odisha’s remarkable progress in women-led economic development.
She announced that the state has successfully created 26,39,909 Lakhpati Didis, surpassing the target of 25 lakh women entrepreneurs nearly one year ahead of schedule.
The achievement marks a significant step in strengthening rural livelihoods and increasing women’s participation in economic growth.
Women at the Centre of Odisha Vision 2036
The Deputy Chief Minister emphasized that Odisha aims to become a prosperous and developed state by 2036, with women playing a central role in that transformation.
She stated that empowering SHG members as successful entrepreneurs remains one of the government’s key priorities. The focus is on creating sustainable income opportunities, expanding women-led enterprises, and ensuring financial independence for women across the state.

The Subhadra Shakti Vision Summit featured detailed discussions on:
- Odisha Vision 2036 and women-led growth
- Expansion of the Lakhpati Didi initiative
- Creation of Mahalakshpati Didis and Crorepati Didis

- Strengthening Producer Groups and Producer Companies
- Financial inclusion and access to credit

The event was attended by senior officials including Manasi Nimbhal, Monika Priyadarshini, and Pranab Kumar Biswas.
Representatives from banking institutions, partner organizations, District Level Federations, and Mission Shakti members from across Odisha also participated in the programme, both physically and through virtual platforms.
