On the occasion of International Labour Day, Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi extended warm greetings to the working-class community across the state.
Acknowledging their pivotal role in driving the state’s economic engine, the Chief Minister reiterated his administration’s firm dedication to inclusive growth and workers’ rights.
He emphasized that the state government is taking comprehensive measures to ensure fair wages, safe working conditions, and social security for every labourer, paving the way for a prosperous and developed Odisha.
Key Initiatives and Safety Measures
In addition to expressing gratitude, the state government has introduced concrete measures to protect the workforce during the ongoing summer months.
Given the rising seasonal temperatures and heat wave conditions, the Odisha government has issued strict guidelines restricting outdoor work during peak heat hours (11:00 AM to 3:00 PM) from April to mid-June 2026. This proactive approach aims to prevent heat-related illnesses while prioritizing the health and safety of the state’s construction, manual, and outdoor labourers.
