Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi felicitated Bubun Sahoo, who secured the top rank in the Odisha Civil Services (OCS) Examination 2024.
The ceremony took place at Lok Seva Bhawan in Bhubaneswar on May 28, 2026.
The Chief Minister congratulated Sahoo, a native of Tolankapada village in Anandpur subdivision of Keonjhar district, for his remarkable achievement. He emphasised that public service remains the core mission of administration and advised Sahoo to dedicate himself to the welfare of children, women, and socially disadvantaged communities. Majhi urged him to grow not only as an able administrator but also as a compassionate human being.
Sahoo, who was selected for the Odisha Police Service last year, currently serves as a Deputy Superintendent of Police. He has been undergoing training at the Biju Patnaik State Police Academy in Bhubaneswar since March 2026.
The Chief Minister also extended congratulations to Sahoo’s parents, Bhagaban Sahoo, a farmer, and Kunjalata Sahoo, a homemaker, acknowledging their role in his success. He said their son’s accomplishment brings pride to the state and inspires countless aspirants.
