The Odisha government on Tuesday announced new appointments to the Odisha Public Service Commission (OPSC) and the Odisha Staff Selection Commission (OSSC).
According to an official notification issued by the General Administration and Public Grievance Department, Prof. (Dr.) Mihir Prasad Mishra, the Principal of S.C.S (Autonomous) College, Puri, has been appointed as a member of OPSC for a term of six years or until he reaches the age of 62. His appointment is governed by the OPSC (Conditions of Service) Regulations, 1952.
Additionally, IAS officer Udaya Narayan Das, who currently serves as Director of Census Operations, has been appointed to OPSC for the same term, under the same service conditions.
In a parallel development, retired IAS officer Sudhakar Burgi has been selected as a member of the OSSC for a term of five years or until he turns 65. His salary, allowances, and service conditions will be regulated by the OSSC (Method of Recruitment and Conditions of Service of the Chairman and Members) Rules, 1995.
Adding further expertise to the panel, Dr. Shruti Das, former professor of English at Berhampur University, has also been appointed as a member of OSSC for the same term. Her service conditions will be aligned with the prescribed government regulations.
These appointments reflect the Odisha government’s continued efforts to enhance the efficiency and transparency of the state’s recruitment process, ensuring that public service positions are filled with qualified and experienced professionals.
