Odisha Yatri, the state government’s innovative mobility platform, is ramping up its efforts to prioritise citizen safety while empowering drivers through a zero-commission model that has already generated over Rs 10 crore in earnings.

Launched as a people-first initiative by the Government of Odisha, Odisha Yatri is transforming into a robust safety ecosystem. The platform now features advanced emergency tools, including direct SOS connections to police, app-free emergency triggers, real-time location sharing, and instant alerts to emergency contacts. These upgrades are designed to provide round-the-clock safety for citizens across the state, extending the app’s utility far beyond traditional ride-hailing services.

In parallel, the zero-commission framework has been a game-changer for drivers. By allowing them to keep 100% of their ride fares, Odisha Yatri has fostered transparency and trust, leading to cumulative earnings exceeding Rs 10 crore. This driver-centric approach not only improves livelihoods but also positions the platform as a reliable, government-supported alternative in the competitive mobility sector.

Adding to its digital innovations, the FASTicket feature is streamlining public transport on the Ama Bus services. Commuters can simply scan QR codes inside buses to book tickets instantly, receive digital confirmations, and enjoy exclusive discounts—all in a cashless, hassle-free process that promotes wider digital adoption.

With plans to expand into cities like Sambalpur and Rourkela, Odisha Yatri is on track to create a seamless, integrated mobility network statewide. By blending safety enhancements, economic empowerment, and tech-driven conveniences, the platform is solidifying its status as Odisha’s go-to solution for safe and efficient travel.
