He noted that it aims to build a future-ready, inclusive, and robust education system capable of driving economic growth, social progress, and global leadership.
Shift Towards Modern, Holistic Learning
Highlighting the changing global landscape shaped by artificial intelligence, biotechnology, and digital innovation, Kambhampati underlined the growing importance of critical thinking, creativity, and interdisciplinary learning. The Governor pointed out that Odisha has already initiated key reforms in higher education, including curriculum restructuring and the promotion of skill-based learning. He also highlighted legislative measures such as the Odisha Universities (Amendment) Act and the University Teacher Cadre Reservation Act as important steps to ensure transparency, accountability, and inclusivity in the education sector.
Focus on Skills, Innovation, and Employability
Emphasising the need for skill development and entrepreneurship, Kambhampati said education should empower young people not only to seek employment but also to create opportunities. He called for collaborative efforts between government, academia, industry, and society to ensure effective implementation of NEP 2020 at the grassroots level.
Call for Community Engagement by Universities
The Governor urged universities to actively engage with nearby villages and contribute to the implementation of welfare schemes initiated by both state and central governments. He stressed the importance of channelising student energy toward societal development and nation-building.
