The political battle over the NEET paper leak controversy intensified on Tuesday after the Biju Janata Dal (BJD) raised fresh questions regarding alleged links involving a trust reportedly associated with the family of Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan.
Addressing a press conference in Bhubaneswar, BJD leaders called for greater transparency and sought clarification on claims being discussed in the public domain concerning a trust, overseas property ownership and alleged connections to individuals linked to the education sector.
BJD Raises Questions During Press Conference
The opposition party alleged that Dharmendra Pradhan’s wife, Mrudula Pradhan, is associated with the Vikas Foundation Trust and questioned whether the trust owns properties in the United States.
BJD leaders further claimed that Pradhan’s daughter stayed at a property allegedly linked to the trust while pursuing higher studies in the United States. The party also raised questions regarding the role of an individual identified as a local guardian during her academic stay abroad.
The party argued that, given the ongoing scrutiny surrounding examination-related controversies, these issues should be clarified publicly.
Allegations Linked to Education Sector
During the media briefing, BJD leaders also referred to alleged links between individuals connected to the trust and organisations operating in the education technology sector.
The opposition party sought clarification on whether any such connections existed and whether they had any association with educational projects or examination-related services.
However, the BJD did not present documentary evidence during the press conference, and the claims remain allegations at this stage.
No Official Response Yet
As of publication, Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan had not issued an official response to the allegations raised by the BJD.
Independent verification of the claims made during the press conference was also not immediately available.
Political Debate Intensifies
The latest remarks come amid continuing political debate over examination transparency, education reforms and allegations surrounding the NEET paper leak controversy.
The issue has become a major point of contention between the ruling establishment and opposition parties, with demands for accountability and greater transparency in educational governance.
Political observers believe the controversy could continue to generate debate in Odisha and at the national level as opposition parties press for answers and the government responds to the allegations.
Focus Remains on Transparency
While the allegations have sparked political reactions, no official investigation findings linking the claims to any wrongdoing have been made public so far.
The controversy is expected to remain in focus as stakeholders await responses from the concerned parties and any further developments from investigative or regulatory authorities.
