Bhubaneswar: Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik on Tuesday reviewed the COVID-19 situation and its management in the state and stressed on various aspects to tackle the future waves of the ongoing pandemic.
Presiding over the high-level virtual meeting with senior officials of various departments, the Odisha CM laid emphasis on child-care for possible third wave of COVID-19 pandemic. He asked the officials concerned to stay prepared for the Black Fungus (Mucormycosis).
Further, Naveen emphasised on early identification of women widowed and children orphaned due to the COVID-19 pandemic and directed to sanction pension under ‘Madhu Babu’ pension scheme within 15 days. He also directed for advance pension for three months to all social security beneficiaries.
During the meeting, the Odisha CM was apprised that the load on ICU and High Dependency Units (HDUs) is declining across the state. Besides, the consumption of medical oxygen has also come down.
The Chief Minister expressed hope that the overall COVID-19 situation in Odisha will improve further by next week.
