In a strategic move to sharpen its stance as a strong Opposition, Biju Janata Dal (BJD) President Naveen Patnaik met with the newly formed BJD Media Cell Coordinator Team at Naveen Niwas on October 3 to outline the party’s communication roadmap.
Addressing senior leaders and media coordinators, Patnaik urged the team to active sensitise and awaken the people of Odisha against what he termed as the growing misgovernance and mismanagement of the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) government.
During the meeting, the BJD chief emphasized that citizens across the state are seeking relief from the current administration’s anti-people policies. As a responsible Opposition party, Patnaik stated that BJD’s primary mandate is to safeguard public interest and ensure that the grievances of ordinary citizens are voiced effectively across all communication channels.
Patnaik instructed the media cell to build a strong media strategy utilizing electronic, print, and social media platforms to expose the governance failures and anti-people actions of the state government. The party aims to translate widespread public discontent into a organized, state-wide campaign.
The high-level meeting was attended by key leaders entrusted with managing various media verticals, including Sanjay Das Burma, Dr. Arun Kumar Sahu, Pratap Jena, Gautam Buddha Das, Pranab Balabantray, Dr. Lenin Mohanty, Dr. Priyabrata Majhi, Swayam Prakash Mohapatra, and Amaresh Patri, among others.
Concluding the meeting, the leadership reiterated its commitment to moving forward with the support and trust of the public, pledging continuous service to the people of Odisha through active democratic engagement.
