The upcoming Street Fighter live-action reboot is gearing up for a triumphant theatrical run, with early industry tracking indicating it will secure the highest debut weekend in the franchise’s history.
Arriving over a decade after the last theatrical adaptation, the action-comedy film has emerged as one of the year’s most highly anticipated video game adaptations.
With immense anticipation surrounding the Capcom IP reboot, trade projections suggest the film has a clear runway to become the highest-grossing entry in the entire Street Fighter cinematic catalogue.
Street Fighter Franchise Lifetime Box Office History
| Film Title | Release Year | Format / Type | Global Box Office (Lifetime) |
| Street Fighter | 1994 | Live-Action (Jean-Claude Van Damme) | $99.4 Million |
| Street Fighter: The Legend of Chun-Li | 2009 | Live-Action Prequel | $12.8 Million |
| Street Fighter (Reboot) | 2026 | Live-Action Action-Comedy | Targeting $100M+ |
To claim the top spot globally, the new reboot needs to cross the $100 million mark worldwide, surpassing the 1994 cult classic starring Jean-Claude Van Damme and Raúl Julia. Given strong pre-release momentum and favourable opening weekend forecasts, the reboot is well-positioned to set a new benchmark for Capcom’s iconic fighting game franchise.
