Jharsuguda: Gopal Das, the main accused in the murder case of former health minister Naba Das, was produced in the Jharsuguda District & Sessions Court today amid tight security.
The District Judge has assigned Gopal’s case to the court of the Additional District & Sessions Judge for trial. On the 8th of August, Gopal will be again produced before the Additional District Magistrate of Jharsuguda and the trial of the case will begin after the framing of charges on the same day.
Gopal was brought from Cuttack Choudwar Jail to Jharsuguda under tight security and taken to the court, and he is being taken to Choudwar Jail.
On January 29, ASI Gopal Das shot dead former health minister Naba Das while the latter was about to attend a party program near Gandhi Chak in Brarajnagar. Soon after, the Brajrajnagar police arrested Gopal. Later, the state government entrusted the investigation of the case to the Crime Branch.
Meanwhile, the crime branch has already submitted the interim charge sheet to the court on May 26 regarding the murder case.
Gopal was produced for the first time in the JMFC court on July 13. He has been kept in Choudwar Jail for security reasons and was brought to the court for the second time today.
