Cuttack: A Public Interest Litigation (PIL) has been filed with the Orissa High Court seeking a CBI investigation into the killing of State health & family welfare minister Naba Das.
The Bharatiya Vikash Parishad today moved the High Court seeking an impartial probe of the case by the central agency. The petitioner mentioned that the ongoing Crime Branch probe is not fair.
Odisha Crime Branch CID is currently investigating the case and retired Judge of Orissa High Court, Justice JP Das, is monitoring the probe process.
Notably, ASI of Gandhi Chowk Police Outpost in Brajarajnagar, Gopal Krishna Das, shot dead Health & Family Welfare Minister Naba Kishore Das while he was alighting from his vehicle to attend a public meeting at Brajarajnagar on January 29 in Jharsuguda district.
The minister sustained bullet injuries on his chest and was airlifted to Bhubaneswar in a critical condition. He was admitted to a private hospital in the state capital where he succumbed to the fatal bullet injuries.
