Public transport services under the Mukhyamantri Bus Seva have come to a halt across seven blocks of Kendujhar district after drivers launched a strike on Tuesday, protesting against the delay in payment of their salaries.
The striking drivers stopped operating buses and staged demonstrations in front of their respective block offices. They alleged that salaries have not been paid on time for months, despite repeated appeals to the authorities. The delay, they said, has made it difficult to manage household expenses.
The drivers demanded regular and timely salary disbursement, urging the administration to resolve the issue immediately.
The strike has severely affected students, employees, and daily commuters, forcing many to rely on alternative modes of transport. With services suspended across seven blocks, the disruption has emerged as a major challenge for the district administration.
