A Bench comprising Chief Justice of India Surya Kant, Justice Joymalya Bagchi, and Justice V. Mohana is hearing the matter.
Senior Advocate Kapil Sibal continued arguments on behalf of the Uddhav Thackeray faction, questioning the EC’s decision and pressing the case for recognition of the Thackeray group.
The dispute over the Shiv Sena’s identity and symbol has been one of the most closely watched political battles in Maharashtra, with both factions staking claim to the party’s legacy and electoral rights.
The hearing is expected to continue as the Bench examines the constitutional and electoral implications of the EC’s order.
