A shocking incident has surfaced in the Jujumura police station area of Sambalpur district where a mother allegedly abducted her 12‑year‑old son, sparking confusion over whether it was a case of kidnapping or a family dispute.
According to reports, the boy, son of former village head Sabat Pradhan, was playing outside his house in Dangapal village when masked men allegedly whisked him away. Pradhan lodged a complaint, claiming unknown miscreants had abducted his son.
However, during the search operation, the boy reportedly called his father, informing him that he was leaving with his mother. Police sources said the mother had been living separately for eight months and had previously attempted to take her children back after serving a jail term in a theft case.
Jujumura IIC Anima Ekka confirmed that a case has been registered and raids are underway. Police assured that the boy will be rescued soon and handed over to his family.
