Bhubaneswar: Odisha MLA and former minister Premananda Nayak resigned from the primary membership of the Biju Janata Dal (BJD).
Nayak sent his resignation to BJD Supremo and Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik in which he mentioned that he was parting ways with the BJD as he was being ‘sidelined’ in the party.
“I have been neglected in the party. Thus, I hereby resign from the prime membership of the Biju Janata Dal,” stated his resignation letter.
Premananda Nayak ventured into politics with the Biju Janata Dal (BJD) in 2009 and contested the election from Telkoi Constituency. Nayak’s effective campaigning and constituent trust contributed to his success with his dedication leading to victory in the 2019 elections, and securing him a seat as a BJD MLA.
Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik and party head Biju Janta Dal appointed Premananda Nayak as a minister in the Odisha government, where he served as the Minister of Skill Development and Technical Education, focusing on enhancing vocational training and technical education opportunities within the state in the year 2019.
