A horrifying discovery has shocked the residents of Angul district as the decomposed body of a missing young woman was found in a paddy field near Kendupalli village under Banarpal police station.
The woman, who had gone missing on April 26 after her train was unexpectedly cancelled at Talcher Road railway station, was reportedly last seen hiring an auto-rickshaw.
Her sudden disappearance led to growing concerns among family members, who filed a missing complaint when her phone went unreachable. After days of search efforts, her highly decomposed body was discovered near a canal close to Kendupalli village.
Local authorities suspect the auto-rickshaw driver of raping and murdering the woman before fleeing the scene. Police have launched an investigation and are actively searching for the absconding suspect.
