The Mayurbhanj Police Department, in collaboration with the district educational administration, has launched a mental health awareness initiative across colleges in Baripada.
This proactive campaign aligns with the vision of Hon’ble Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi, who has consistently emphasised student safety and mental well-being.
Spearheaded by DGP Odisha, YB Khurania, and guided by DIG Eastern Range, Dr. Satyajit Naik, the program aims to destigmatise mental health issues and foster a culture of openness and support among college students. Through expert-led workshops and interactive sessions, students are encouraged to engage in candid conversations about mental health, seek help when needed, and build resilience.
Dr. Satyajit Naik remarked, “Our aim is to create a supportive environment where students feel comfortable discussing their mental health concerns without fear of judgment. We believe that mental health awareness is crucial for the overall well-being of our students.”
The initiative reflects a collaborative effort between the Police Administration and SP Mayurbhanj, showcasing a unified commitment to nurturing emotionally healthy campuses. It also forms part of a broader Odisha Police campaign to prevent suicide and promote mental health literacy among youth.
By prioritising mental health, the program not only addresses immediate concerns but also lays the foundation for long-term emotional resilience and institutional care.
