A tragic incident unfolded on Thursday at the popular coastal destination of Digha, located near Balasore, when two tourists were swept away by turbulent sea waves.
Eyewitnesses reported that the group was bathing when the waters suddenly turned rough, pulling two individuals away from the shore.
Local residents and police personnel promptly launched a rescue operation. One tourist was successfully retrieved and rushed to a nearby medical facility. However, the second individual remains missing despite an hour-long search. Authorities have yet to confirm the identities of the victims.
