A major fire broke out early Sunday morning at the Enforcement Directorate (ED) office housed in the Kaiser-I-Hind building, located in Mumbai’s Ballard Estate area. Fortunately, no injuries have been reported so far.

According to civic officials, the cause of the fire is yet to be determined. The Mumbai Fire Brigade received the first call about the blaze around 2:31 am. The fire, initially categorized as a Level-II incident around 3:30 am, was later escalated to Level-III at approximately 4:17 am, indicating a major emergency.

The fire was mainly confined to the fourth floor of the five-storey building, which also houses other offices. A large-scale firefighting operation was launched, involving eight fire engines, six jumbo tankers, an aerial water tower tender, a breathing apparatus van, a rescue van, a quick response vehicle, and an ambulance.

Firefighting efforts are still underway as authorities work to bring the situation under control. Further updates are awaited as an investigation into the cause of the fire begins.
