Six masked miscreants looted Rs 15 lakh from a trader after beating him up on the road in Nabarangpur district on Wednesday.
The injured trader has been identified as Hapi Zulla Ansari, of Pathan Sahi under Raighar block. He was admitted to Raighar Hospital for treatment. The health condition of the Ansari is said to be stable.
As per reports, on Wednesday, Ansari was going to Chhatabeda village on his bike with two others Yunus Latiya and Guddu Dhoba with Rs 15 lakh in a bag to give farmers the money.
At an open space between Bengali Chhatabeda and tribal Chhatabeda villages, about six masked miscreants suddenly came on three bikes and stopped them. They first pushed Yunus and Guddu. Then they attacked the main trader, Hapi Zulla Ansari with sticks and decamped with the bag containing money.
Trader Hapi Zulla Ansari was beaten on the head and shoulder by the men and was bleeding. He was immediately admitted to Raighar Hospital.
The Raighar police have reached the spot and started an investigation. The police have intensified patrolling in the areas related to the police track as the trader’s phone was found in the bag of the robbers who took the money. However, the Guddu and Yunus have revealed that the robbers were speaking in a foreign language.
The police have taken the incident seriously and have intensified the investigation process. The miscreants looted Rs 15 lakh as per the previous plan, while the police suspect that there was a big plan to escape through the rural forest roads. On the other hand, such looting incidents have happened many times in the area, but since many areas are connected with Chhattisgarh, the robbers have not fallen into the clutches of the police to date.
On the other hand, as Raighar block is located on the border of Odisha, an atmosphere of fear has been created among many traders and the common people after this incident. The police have tightened the inspection process with all the local police stations.
