A man was burnt alive, and another sustained critical injuries in a hit-and-run accident on National Highway 149 at Burukuna Chhak near Samakoi Bridge in Angul district.
Late last night, an unidentified vehicle struck a motorcycle, sparking a fire that engulfed the bike. The rider was trapped in the blaze and died on the spot. The motorcycle was reduced to ashes.
The pillion rider suffered severe injuries. He was first taken to Khamar Community Health Centre and later shifted to Angul District Hospital as his condition deteriorated.
Samal Police reached the accident site and began investigating the hit-and-run case. Officers confirmed that the identity of the deceased remains unknown.
