A shocking incident has emerged from Gadapokhari Panchayat under Khaira police limits, where a man allegedly beat his wife to death following a domestic dispute.

The accused, identified as Babula, had been living with his wife Manika and their children for eight years. Locals report that Babula frequently consumed alcohol and was abusive toward his wife.

According to police sources, the fatal assault occurred four days ago while Babula was intoxicated. Upon realising Manika had died, he allegedly disposed of her body in a nearby forest and fled the scene.

The crime came to light when residents noticed foul smell and alerted Khaira police. Inspector Suchandra Mahalik led the recovery operation and has launched a formal investigation.
