Sambalpur: Police here have arrested five persons including an ex-employee of a Private firm limited in a loot case from a microfinance group employee on 8th September.
The arrested have been identified as Midia @ Sunil Kumar Behera (37), Ramesh Bhoi (32), Ganga @ Gangadhar Badi (35), Dayanidhi @ Sushanta Luha (28), and Kanhucharan Tandi (26).
According to reports, on September 8, one Alok Sahu, Development officer Arnapurna Finance pvt. Ltd, Naktideul Branch, was returning after collecting Rs 63,240 from SHG Group of villages like Rail, Ghosramal, Jhatkimal, Landimal.
Meanwhile, three unknown persons intercepted the victim, Alok, and snatched away cash of Rs 40,750 from him. Following this, Alok lodged a complaint in this regard.
As per direction and under the direct supervision SP, Sambalpur, special teams were formed to apprehend the accused persons. However, they were arrested and during interrogation, it was ascertained that the main accused was previously working at Bharat Microfinance, Laikera Branch. He had engaged other accused persons and was plotting the crime.
” The accused persons have committed robbery from March to September- 2022 at Rairakhol -Burda road cash of Rs- 40,000/, Charmal- Guhiradadar cash Rs- 63,220/, Jujumura- Mohandera cash of Rs- 20,619/, Jhankarpali Cash of Rs- 89,739/, Kisinda- Dhalpur cash of Rs- 67,680/,” said a senior official.
Several cases are also pending against the accused persons at different police stations, added the official.
