Aul: One person died while another left critically injured in a lightning strike at Chunabandha village under Balakati GP in Aul police station limits in Kendrapara district.
According to reports, Bharat Behera (34) was returning from the farmland this afternoon when thunderstorm followed by lightning lashed the area. In the meanwhile, a lightning bolt struck Bharat, who was on his way home, after finishing agricultural work in the nearby farmland.
He was immediately rushed to Aul Hospital but the doctor declared him “brought dead”.
Similarly, Parshuram Mallick (40) of the same village was also critically injured in a lightning strike. Initially, he was admitted to Aul Hospital and later shifted to Kendrapara District Headquarters Hospital. His health condition is stated to be stable now.
