The Indian Navy will perform the much-awaited ‘Operational Demonstration’ exercise at Blue Flag Beach in Puri on Navy Day, December 4, to acknowledge its accomplishments and role in protecting the nation.
The demonstration will feature at least 24 warships and 40 aircraft, including helicopters and fighter jets, showcasing the Navy’s maritime prowess and operational strength through various aerial manoeuvres and exercises.
The Operational Demo aims to showcase the Navy’s varied capabilities and foster maritime consciousness among Odisha’s populace. President Droupadi Murmu is scheduled to attend the event, which will take place from 4 pm to 6:30 pm and culminate in an impressive laser display.
Enthusiasm and excitement spiked among the residents and tourists of Puri after eight warships arrived in the Puri Sea today leaving all eagerly awaiting to watch the special event on Navy Day. Not only that, the Navy’s aircraft will also perform an impressive air show. Navy Day is just a few days away, so Navy’s Marcos Commandos and helicopters have started war exercises at the pristine Blue Flag Beach in Puri.
Puri District Magistrate Siddharth Shankar Swain stated: “For security reasons, access to Blue Flag Beach will be restricted for tourists. These restrictions will coincide with the commencement of the Navy’s full-scale war exercises. The administration has prepared 20 parking lots for the event and will soon announce designated parking areas. As the war exercises are to take place at sea, fishermen will be barred from the vicinity of the naval ships. Navy officials are scheduled to arrive in Puri today and will later provide details about the Navy Day program. The district administration will monitor the situation closely to ensure the event proceeds without any issues.”
The administration of the Puri district is meticulously preparing to ensure the success of the Navy Day event. They are implementing comprehensive security measures, including arrangements for VVIP seating and presidential amenities. The Secretary of the Puri Department, Vir Vikram Yadav, along with the District Magistrate, Siddhartha Shankar Swain, have inspected the preparations at Blue Flag Beach.
For Navy Day, 20 parking spaces have been designated, and the Indian Navy is set to commence regular combat drills starting from the 1st of the following month.
In the meantime, sea bathing for tourists will be restricted for security reasons. Fishermen have also been barred from entering the sea areas where naval ships are stationed, effective from today until the 5th of the next month.
As preparations for Navy Day are underway, they will be ramped up following the arrival of senior naval officers today.
