The carcass of a leopard was discovered hanging from a tree near Jarada village under Kabisuryanagar police limits in Ganjam district.
Locals spotted the dead animal and immediately alerted authorities.
Police from Kabisuryanagar station and officials from the Polasara Forest Division reached the site and began an investigation. The circumstances surrounding the leopard’s death remain unclear, and officials are working to establish whether foul play was involved.
Forest officers confirmed that they are examining the carcass to determine the exact cause of death. They also pledged to identify those responsible if evidence of wrongdoing emerges.
