A high-level review meeting was held at the District Museum Conference Hall in Koraput to evaluate the progress of the Election Commission of India’s (ECI) Special Intensive Revision-2026 program.
The meeting was attended by ECI Principal Secretary S.B. Joshi, Under Secretary Vibhor Agrawal, and Deputy Secretary of the Odisha Government’s Home (Elections) Department, Jitendra Patra. District Collector Manoj Satyawan Mahajan welcomed the visiting officials, introduced the local administration team, and set the stage for the review.
Key Focus Areas & Directives
With the final publication of the electoral roll scheduled for September 21, 2026, Principal Secretary S.B. Joshi conducted constituency-wise evaluations across the district.
- Field-Level Assessment: Interacted with Electoral Registration Officers (EROs) to address ground-level execution, current progress, and operational challenges.
- Youth Engagement: Directed officials to activate and expand Electoral Literacy Clubs (ELCs) across institutions to register new and young voters.
- Democratic Awareness: Emphasized targeted awareness initiatives for students, youth, and the general public to boost participation.
- Strict Timelines: Mandated total compliance with ECI guidelines to ensure error-free completion within the stipulated deadline.
The meeting concluded with instructions to maintain transparency, ensure seamless coordination among local administration teams, and adhere strictly to all Commission protocols.
