In the ongoing investigation into the tragic death of KIIT University student Prakriti Lamsal, the Twin City Police Commissioner, S. Dev Datta Singh, announced that primary suspect and former boyfriend, Advik Srivastava, has been placed under a three-day remand for intensive questioning.
Concurrently, a high-level fact-finding committee, led by the Additional Chief Secretary of the Odisha Home Department, has commenced its second day of inquiry into the circumstances surrounding Lamsal’s demise.
Central to the investigation are several voice recordings, purportedly exchanges between Lamsal and Srivastava, which have surfaced online. These recordings allegedly contain abusive and derogatory language directed at Lamsal, leading to claims of severe mental distress inflicted by Srivastava. To verify the authenticity of these recordings, the committee has decided to conduct voice spectrography analysis.
In parallel, the police have seized mobile phones and laptops belonging to both the victim and the accused, forwarding them to a forensic laboratory for detailed examination. The campus remains under police supervision to maintain order during this sensitive period.
