In a monumental step toward nurturing sports talent at the grassroots level, the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports, Government of India, in collaboration with the State Sports and Youth Affairs Department, has inaugurated Khelo India Centres across every district in Odisha.
Under the visionary leadership of Chief Minister Shri Mohan Majhi, these centres aim to provide structured training and world-class infrastructure for various sports, including football, volleyball, hockey, athletics, kho kho, and kabaddi. Ensuring comprehensive development, the centres will offer top-notch facilities and guidance to budding sportspersons.
Odisha Sports Minister Suryabanshi Suraj announced that each Khelo India Centre will receive an annual government grant of Rs 5 lakh for proper management and development. This initiative is set to strengthen the foundation of sports in Odisha, offering a bright future to talented athletes.
