Kashmiri citizens launched a heartfelt donation drive on Sunday to support war-hit Iran as the West Asia conflict entered its fourth week.
Youth in Shia-dominated areas of the valley went door to door collecting contributions. Families donated gold, copper utensils, and cash, with men, women, and children joining the effort.
The Iranian Embassy expressed deep gratitude through posts on X, acknowledging the solidarity shown by Kashmiris. “We will never forget your kindness and humanity. Thank you, India,” the Embassy wrote. In another post, officials highlighted the emotional story of a Kashmiri woman who donated gold kept as a memento of her late husband, calling her gesture a source of comfort for the people of Iran.
Photos shared by the Embassy showed piles of donated items, symbolising the collective spirit of Kashmiris. The Embassy praised the “hearts of gold” of the community, noting that such humanitarian acts strengthen bonds between nations during times of crisis.
Netizens widely applauded the initiative, describing it as an inspiring example of compassion. Many urged for more such drives to support communities affected by conflict. The donation campaign underscored the resilience and empathy of Kashmiri society, which stepped forward to aid Iran despite global uncertainty.
The act of solidarity resonated across social platforms, reinforcing the message that humanity thrives even in the face of war.
