Odisha Food Supplies Minister Krushna Chandra Patra assured citizens that the state has sufficient LPG stock, urging consumers not to panic.
Addressing concerns over gas availability, he said the state requires around 2,000 cylinders daily but currently holds nearly 14,000 in reserve.
Patra emphasised that domestic supply remains normal and complaints are being addressed promptly. He urged people not to resort to panic buying, stressing that arrangements are in place to stabilise distribution.
Commercial consumers, including hotels and restaurants, will see improved allocation. Patra announced that the supply has been raised to 40% from the earlier 20%. The Centre has approved an additional 20%, with discussions underway for another 10%. Within two days, commercial supply is expected to meet 50% of demand.
He confirmed that the government is working closely with the Centre to meet conditions for the extra allocation. “Gas will be supplied to hotels and restaurants soon. Domestic distribution is stable, and commercial institutions will benefit from increased allocation,” Patra said.
