Kanpur: A bride married one of the baraatis after the groom mysteriously disappeared from the wedding venue at Maharajpur town in the Kanpur district of Uttar Pradesh.
As per reports, the bride and groom exchange garlands in the jaimala ceremony. While the families were preparing for the main wedding rituals, the groom was nowhere to be found.
Both the families then carried out a frantic search to trace the groom but in vain.
Soon after, the bride’s family realised that the groom was not missing but had run away from the venue for reasons unknown to everyone except him. Shocked and devastated, the bride’s family was extremely disturbed that she was left alone at the mandap.
However, a baraati suggested that the wedding could still take place with another suitable boy from the baraat. The bride’s family then selected one guy from the baraat. Both the families consulted and agreed on the alliance.
The wedding was then solemnised at the same venue.
Later by the bride’s family lodged a police complaint against the groom and his family members demanding strict actions. On the other hand, the groom’s father, has sought police help to trace his missing son.
