Krishna Kumar Singh, Director (Personnel), assumed additional charge as Chairman and Managing Director of Steel Authority of India Limited (SAIL) on April 2, 2026.

With nearly four decades of experience across steel plant operations, maintenance, human resource development, vigilance, and administration, Singh has played a pivotal role in SAIL’s growth. He began his career in 1987 as a Management Trainee at Bhilai Steel Plant, where he worked extensively in the Blooming and Billet Mill before moving into HRD.

Over the years, Singh rose steadily through the ranks, holding key leadership positions including Executive Director (In-Charge) Personnel & Administration. In 2022, he was appointed Director (Personnel), reflecting his deep expertise and leadership credentials.

As Director (Personnel), Singh spearheaded initiatives to transform SAIL’s human resources, introducing progressive employee welfare and development schemes aimed at making the workforce future-ready. His leadership has strengthened SAIL’s people-centric growth strategy.

Now, as CMD, Singh is expected to guide the organisation toward greater excellence and innovation, leveraging his extensive experience and commitment to employee development. His appointment underscores SAIL’s focus on combining operational efficiency with human resource transformation to achieve long-term success.
