Kendujhar Ex-Junior Clerk Gets 2-Yr RI in Corruption Case

The Special Judge, Vigilance, Kendujhar, today convicted Sangram Pattnaik, Ex‑Junior Clerk of Padmapur CHC, Kendujhar, presently serving as Senior Clerk at Capital Hospital, Bhubaneswar, in a corruption case.


Pattnaik was charge‑sheeted by Odisha Vigilance under Section 13(2) read with 13(1)(c)(d) of the Prevention of Corruption Act, 1988, along with IPC Sections 409, 477‑A, 435, and 201. He was found guilty of misappropriating GPF refund amounts of health workers between 1999 and 2003, failing to remit the deducted sums to the Accountant General, Odisha.

The court sentenced him to two years rigorous imprisonment and imposed a fine. Following the conviction, Odisha Vigilance announced it will move the competent authority for his dismissal from service.
