7 Iranian Military Officials Killed

Israel said its military killed seven senior Iranian officials in precision strikes on Tehran, including IRGC commander Mohammad Pakpour and senior adviser Ali Shamkhani.

The Israel Defence Forces (IDF) announced the operation after its Military Intelligence Directorate identified two locations in Tehran where Iranian leaders had gathered.

The IDF stated that hundreds of fighter jets carried out coordinated attacks on Iranian military and weapons infrastructure. According to Israel, Shamkhani, a close adviser to Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei, played a central role in Iran’s defence strategy. The IDF also confirmed the death of Mohammad Pakpour, commander of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps, accusing him of directing missile and drone operations against Israel.

Other officials named by Israel include Salah Asadi, Mohammad Shirazi, Defence Minister Aziz Nasirzadeh, and senior figures linked to Iran’s SPND weapons development body. Israel alleged these officials were deeply involved in missile production, proxy coordination, and advanced weapons programs, including nuclear‑related projects.

Tehran has not confirmed the deaths. The strikes formed part of a broader joint US‑Israeli offensive targeting Iran’s military and strategic infrastructure. Regional tensions escalated sharply as Israel emphasised that the operation aimed to dismantle Iran’s military leadership and prevent future attacks.

The IDF described the strikes as a decisive blow against what it called the “Iranian terrorist regime.” The announcement marked one of the most significant escalations in the ongoing conflict, with Israel asserting that the precision strikes eliminated key figures in Iran’s defence establishment.
