Sunrisers Hyderabad registered a commanding 47-run victory over Delhi Capitals in IPL 2026, thanks to a sensational unbeaten 135 off 68 balls by Abhishek Sharma.
His innings, featuring 10 sixes and 10 fours, powered SRH to a massive 242/2, a total that proved far beyond DC’s reach.
SRH’s batting domination
- Abhishek anchored the innings with aggressive stroke play and smart shot selection
- Built a 97-run opening stand with Travis Head (37)
- Added 79 runs in quick time with skipper Ishan Kishan (25 off 13)
- Heinrich Klaasen finished strong with 37 off 13 balls*
Despite a brief slowdown late in the innings, Abhishek maintained a strike rate above 200, bringing up his century in just 47 balls.
Delhi Capitals’ bowling struggles
DC’s bowling attack had no answers:
- Lungi Ngidi, Mukesh Kumar, and T Natarajan all leaked heavily
- Spinners Axar Patel and Kuldeep Yadav bowled only half their quota
- Part-timer Nitish Rana conceded 55 runs in 4 overs, a costly tactical decision
The middle overs (7–15) proved disastrous, conceding 116 runs, which ultimately sealed DC’s fate.
DC’s chase falls apart
Chasing 243, Delhi Capitals started well but collapsed mid-innings:
- Reduced from 107/1 to 107/4
- Managed only 195/9 in the end
Eshan Malinga starred with the ball, picking up 4 wickets, while Sakib Hussain supported effectively.
