Sambalpur: In a breakthrough, Sambalpur police on Wednesday busted an inter-State gang of dacoits and arrested ten members.
The accused persons have been identified as
- Madan Sundar Khadia (31) of Rengali
- Sachin Khadia (22) of Bareipali
- Sanjay Khadia (20) of Rengali
- Sudarshan Khadia (28) of Rengali
- Bikash Khadia (19) of Bareipali
- Bulu Kandha (20) of Rengali
- Sunil Majhi (19) of Rengali
- Anil Majhi (32) of Rengali
- Bhubana Luhara (23) of Rengali
- Swaraj Meher (24) of Bargarh
Police also seized 480 grams of gold, 165 grams of silver, 35 silver coins, Rs 5,12,000 cash, two boleros, two tractors, four bikes, one scooter, and 11 mobile phones. Also, arms like bhujali, knife, rope, and crowbar were seized. The property seized was valued at approximately Rs. 75 lakhs.
As per reports, the gang committed a series of dacoities, thefts and burglaries in respect of cash and gold ornaments from different rice mills of Sambalpur and nearby districts. The gang committed about 21 crimes so far.
