A fierce gunfight between security forces and terrorists in the Juthana region of Kathua district has claimed the lives of three police officers and three terrorists, leaving seven others injured, including a Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP).
The operation, which began Thursday morning, has extended into Friday as authorities remain on high alert.
Special forces have employed drone surveillance and reinforced security perimeters to neutralize any remaining threats. The terrorists are believed to have infiltrated across the border using newly dug tunnels. The People’s Anti-Fascist Front (PAFF), a proxy outfit for Jaish-e-Mohammad, has claimed responsibility for the attack.
Authorities have assured the public of strict measures to counter such activities. The incident highlights the continued efforts by security personnel to maintain peace and stability in the region amid mounting tensions.
