A day after unveiling BJP national president Nitin Nabin’s new team, the party announced state in‑charges for three key poll‑bound states — Uttar Pradesh, Punjab and Gujarat.
Rajya Sabha MPs Tarun Chugh, Vinod Tawde and Satish Poonia have been entrusted with Gujarat, Uttar Pradesh and Punjab respectively. All three leaders are considered strong organisational hands, tasked with strengthening the party’s presence ahead of crucial Assembly elections.
The BJP clarified that appointments for the remaining states will follow in due course. Until then, the existing Prabhari arrangements will continue.
Party insiders view the move as part of a broader strategy to energise state units and streamline coordination between the central leadership and regional organisations. With elections looming, the appointments signal the BJP’s intent to sharpen its campaign machinery in politically significant states.
