India Rejects Claim of Elon Musk Joining Modi-Trump Call on West Asia Crisis

India has firmly dismissed reports suggesting that Elon Musk participated in a high-level phone conversation between Prime Minister Narendra Modi and US President Donald Trump regarding the ongoing West Asia crisis.

The Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) clarified on Saturday that the March 24 telephonic exchange was strictly between the two leaders, contradicting claims made by The New York Times.

No Third-Party Participation: Government Statement

Responding to the report, the MEA spokesperson stated that the conversation involved only Prime Minister Modi and President Trump. The clarification comes after speculation that Musk had joined the discussion during a sensitive geopolitical moment.

Officials emphasized that the call served as an opportunity for both nations to exchange views on the evolving situation in West Asia and reinforce diplomatic coordination.

Focus on Strait of Hormuz and Global Stability

During the discussion, Prime Minister Modi highlighted the importance of keeping the Strait of Hormuz open, secure, and accessible. The waterway is a critical global energy corridor, and any disruption could significantly impact international oil supply and economic stability.

India reiterated its consistent stance supporting de-escalation, peace, and stability in the region amid rising tensions.

Background: Report Sparked Speculation

The initial report by The New York Times claimed that Elon Musk’s inclusion in the call marked an unusual instance of a private individual being involved in a conversation between two heads of state.

However, Indian authorities have now categorically denied this claim, reaffirming that no external participants were part of the dialogue.

India-US Relations Remain Strong

Despite the controversy, the conversation reflects the continued strategic partnership between India and the United States. Both leaders agreed to remain in touch and work toward stabilizing the situation in West Asia.

Recent remarks from President Trump praising India-US relations further underline the strengthening diplomatic ties between the two countries.
