In a significant move amid heightened tensions following the Pahalgam terror attack, the Indian government has blocked the X (formerly Twitter) accounts of former Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan and ex-foreign minister Bilawal Bhutto Zardari within Indian territory.
When accessed from India, both politicians’ accounts now display a message stating that their handles have been withheld “in response to a legal demand.”
The action is part of a broader digital crackdown following the recent terrorist strike in Jammu and Kashmir’s Pahalgam region, which resulted in multiple casualties. The government has accused several Pakistani platforms and individuals of spreading misinformation and provocative content amid the ongoing crisis.
