India and the African Union postponed the Fourth India–Africa Forum Summit, originally scheduled in New Delhi from May 28 to 31, 2026, due to the evolving Ebola-linked public health situation in parts of Africa.

In a joint statement, both sides confirmed that they had been working closely to convene the summit but agreed that the health situation required caution. They emphasised the importance of cooperation in strengthening public health preparedness and response capacities across Africa, including support to the Africa CDC and national institutions.

India reiterated its solidarity with African nations and expressed its readiness to contribute to Africa CDC-led efforts to address the crisis. Officials highlighted the shared commitment to an Africa-led response and the need to ensure full participation of African leaders in the summit.

Consultations took place between the Government of India, the Chairperson of the African Union, and the African Union Commission. Following these discussions, both sides agreed to hold the summit at a later date. New dates will be finalised through mutual consultations and announced in due course.

India and Africa reaffirmed their longstanding partnership based on solidarity, mutual respect, South-South cooperation, and a shared vision for peace, development, prosperity, and the well-being of their peoples.
