An Air India flight from Delhi to Bengaluru suffered a tail strike during landing at Kempegowda International Airport on Thursday.
The airline confirmed that flight AI2651, operating on May 21, experienced the incident while landing.
The Airbus A321 aircraft landed safely, and all passengers and crew disembarked without any issues. Air India stated that the aircraft sustained a tail strike during a go-around manoeuvre and has been grounded for detailed inspection.
An airline spokesperson said, “The incident will be investigated in accordance with established procedures, in coordination with the relevant regulatory authorities.”
Following the incident, Air India cancelled the return flight AI2652 from Bengaluru to Delhi. The airline assured that alternative arrangements are being made to accommodate affected passengers. Ground teams in Bengaluru are assisting travellers with rebooking and necessary support.
