India A defeated Bangladesh A by 46 runs to successfully defend the ACC Women’s Asia Cup Rising Stars title on Sunday.
Tejal Hasanbis and Prema Rawat delivered standout performances that sealed the victory.
India A faced early trouble at 44 for four on a slow, turning pitch. Hasanbis, an experienced ODI player, steadied the innings with a fluent 51 not out off 34 balls. She struck two sixes and batted at a strike rate of 150, well above the rest. Captain Radha Yadav added 36 off 30 balls, and together they built an 89-run partnership for the fifth wicket. Their effort lifted India A to 134 for seven in 20 overs.
Bangladesh A faltered in their chase, losing their first wicket for just 12 runs in the third over. Pacers struck early, and leg-spinner Prema Rawat tightened the grip with her skillful bowling. She claimed three wickets for 12 runs in four overs, including a classic leg-break that dismissed Shamima Sultana. Bangladesh collapsed to 88 all out in 19.1 overs.
India A’s disciplined bowling attack ensured the target was defended comfortably. The victory echoed their success in the inaugural final in 2023, once again proving their dominance in the tournament.
