India put up 266/10 against Pakistan in 48.5 overs at Pallekele International Cricket Stadium, Sri Lanka at the Asia Cup 2023.
India struggled against Pakistan’s pacers but a 138-run stand between Hardik Pandya and Ishan Kishan helped them recover from the early salvo from Shaheen Afridi and Co.
Ishan Kishan scored his fourth consecutive ODI half-century and seemed to start cramping towards the end of his innings. He hence looked to switch gears which led to him falling to Haris Rauf on 82 off 81. Pandya soldiered on but missed out on a maiden ODI century, falling to Afridi on 87 off 90.
Afridi and Naseem Shah returned towards the end of the innings to take another flurry of wickets and India eventually were all out for 266. Afridi ended with figures of 4/35 while Naseem and Rauf took three each.
