Bhubaneswar: The India Meteorological Department has issued a yellow warning for thunderstorms with lightning in several areas of the state for the next two days in the state.
These areas include Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Kendrapada, Cuttack, Jagatsinghpur, Puri, Khurda, Nayagarh, Ganjam, and Gajapati on July 9, and then Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Kendrapada, Cuttack, Jagatsinghpur, Puri, Khurda, Nayagarh, Ganjam, Gajapati, Mayurbhanj, and Keonjhar on July 10.
Bhubaneswar and Puri may experience cloudy skies with one or two spells of rain or thundershowers on July 9. Additionally, light to moderate rain or thundershowers are expected at a few places across the state until July 12.
The weather agency has forecast heavy rain at one or two places in Mayurbhanj, Keonjhar, Koraput, Rayagada, Malkangiri, Nabarangpur, Kalahandi, and Kandhamal districts on July 13.
Subsequently, there are no weather warnings, but light to moderate rain or thundershowers may occur at many places in the state over the following two days.
