New Delhi: The monsoons have arrived and Maharashtra, Assam, Gujarat and Delhi are states experiencing incessant rainfall for the past few weeks.
In the latest update, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a red alert for districts in Kerala and a yellow alert for Mumbai, Thane, and Palghar.
The weather department further announced that the monsoon is shifting southward, bringing heavy rain and thunderstorms to coastal Kerala, Karnataka, and Konkan Goa this week.

The Regional Meteorological Center of Mumbai in a post on X stated, “Heavy to very heavy rainfall and thunderstorm with lightning very likely to occur at isolated places over Vidarbha.”

The Goa education department declared a holiday for schools up to Class 12 on Monday, July 15, citing heavy rain in the coastal state after IMD issued a red alert in parts of the state.
- Delhi Rains: Check Max-Min Temperature
Rain lashed parts of Delhi on Monday morning, with the minimum temperature at 29 degrees Celsius, 1.8 degrees above the season’s average. Relative humidity at 8:30 AM was 76 percent. Sunday’s maximum temperature was 37.1 degrees Celsius, two degrees above the average.
- High Alert For Rain In Karnataka
Karnataka is also bracing for heavy rains over the next 24 hours, with the coastal region on high alert. The IMD has issued a red alert for Uttara Kannada district until July 16, underscoring the severity of the expected weather.
